I have used Smorty in the past for a few posts on some of my various blogs and really liked the payment setup as well as how they handled the posting requirements. The biggest drawback for me at the time was the community was small and the opps were limited. Because of this I gravitated to PPP and other mediums for earnings through posting and links.



During this time PayPerPost became IZEA and launched SocialSpark. Well Smorty is not just sitting around being passed by SocialSpark and PayPerPost. They have launched a great new option for Smorty members. Smorty has a new Post Exchange Program that is growing the Smorty community to become stronger by helping each other. Make Some Extra Money Using Your Credit Cards

I am all about making the most money and making that money work for me and in turn make me the most money. The less I have to do and the more my money can do for me the better. That is my approach to credit cards if used properly are a very useful, and sometimes, necessary part of life. Credit has become so easily attainable that it has become a large problem for a large amount of people, we are seeing the results of that in the mortgage market now. What do I mean by that?

Don't carry a balance! Unless there is a legit emergency you should never carry an interest accruing balance on your credit card. Don't throw money down the drain, which is essentially what you are doing if you are paying interest on your gas, food, gadgets, or whatever else you put on there. If you don't have the money don't charge it. If you must charge it don't charge so much that you can't pay it off. If you won't be able to pay it off don't buy it, again unless it is a legit emergency.

If you have a balance currently then take advantage of interest free credit cards and balance transfers. This allows you a bit of extra time to pay down a balance. Don't use the interest free rate and period as an excuse to charge more or to only pay the minimum. This only works against you. Pay as much as you can and eliminate the debt before the intro low rate expires.

If you are brave and disciplined enough you can leverage your credit as a money making tool instead of having it be a drain. I had a friend of mine that explained this practice to me and how he was making literally $1000's per year off of his credit cards. I started doing what he told me and now I am making $1000's extra per year off the credit card companies. Let me explain.

If you are like me you probably get tons of credit offers in the mail all with varying intro rates and periods. I only look at the interest free offers and ones that tend to be over 6 months work the best with 3 months really being the minimum. Okay here is the trick. You can leverage your credit line for the 0% period to earn you interest via some other medium. I don't recommend the stock market as this is a bit too much risk exposure. I recommend high interest, short term CD's, or high interest money markets(paypal actually is a pretty good choice). Okay here is an example. Say you have an offer for a 0% card. You apply and get approved for a $10,000 limit with a 12 month intro period. I would leverage $8000 of that available balance and place it into a 9 month CD or a money market earning say 5%. You would earn approximately $300 dollars. Do this each year with about $40 - $50,000(my friend does more) and earn usually no less than $2000 extra per year. All for doing pretty much nothing and all in essence free. You can leverage this even further if the card is a perks card.

Let your credit be a useful tool and not a burden. Don't spend and use credit where you can't afford to. Stop wasting money padding some companies bank account and let your credit work for you not against you. Credit cards when used properly are great useful and necessary tools. Well there you go that is what I think about credit cards.

SocialSpark - The Online Earnings Community For Bloggers

SocialSpark is a new site by IZEA the folks behind PayPerPost, Blogger's Choice, and Zookoda. This blog is about making money. It isn't about you liking me. That would be nice, and I'm a likable guy, but still not the point. It isn't even directly about gaining more readers, although that is to a point an indirect necessity. It is, when you get down to it, about the money. I blog from my passion. I write because I have a passionate motivation to make money online instead of working my a-s off for 40 years for some other guy. I have a great job so don't get me wrong but I am working extremely hard to replace it, which is a pretty high mark. I am passionate about my family time and being able to have freedom of location for that time. Therefore I am passionate about making money online. And thus I write from my passion.

I don't ask that you like me or the means to my end. I may not do it like "the other guys" but I make money. This blog makes money. My affiliate campaigns make money, which was quite nice while I was away from blogging a bit lately. This blog made me $1500 in January alone. I do paid posting, I sell ad space, I sell links, I market affiliate programs and every once in a great while my feeble human brain spits out a decent article or two to help out those trying to do the same. I have quite a few PayPerPost referrals and haven't been paid for a single one. I have been hard pressed to find many who have been paid. Now I don't have hundreds of referrals but I certainly have enough where at least some would have published and been paid for at least one article by now. Yet not a single status that isn't still pending.

Did I Reach My $1500 January Goal?

Now that the month of January is over I had a bit of time to total up the numbers. I know I was anxious to see if I had reached my goal. I know many of you were probably wondering the same thing.

Oh yeah, In case you missed it I set a goal for this blog to earn $1500 in January. When I set this goal it was on January 15th and I had earned a total of $606.33 so far for the month. I was very determined to meet the goal and I tried to keep everyone updated as to my progress. Now it is time to see the final numbers.

Here are the final earnings numbers for the January.

Affiliate Sales: $937.18
Paid Posting: $430.34
Contextual Ads: $73.88
Ad/Link Sales: $10.00
Misc: $11.37

Total MTD: $1462.77

A new earnings record for the blog!!! While not quite to my $1500 goal it is an average of roughly $47.19 per day for the month. I have to admit I am a little disappointed. I know I was very close, but close is still not good enough for me. Stay tuned for what is coming February. I will be busy the rest of the weekend but come Monday I will be posting my February goal as well as details on the February contest.

Last Day To Reach $1500 January Goal

In case you missed it I have set a goal for this blog to earn $1500 in January. When I set this goal it was on January 15th and I had earned a total of $606.33 so far for the month. I am determined to meet this goal and I wanted to keep everyone updated as to my progress. With just a little under 9 hours left in the month I feel that I am getting close.

In my last $1500 Goal Update on January 24 I had a Total MTD: $1015.27. Here is the breakdown through that day.

Affiliate Sales: $647.26
Paid Posting: $303.07
Contextual Ads: $48.81
Ad/Link Sales: $10.00
Misc: $6.13

From that day I needed to average just a touch over $60 per day to reach my goal. I haven't ran down all the numbers yet today and won't have the compete totals to report until tomorrow but I feel that I am close. I know my affiliate sales have continued to increase, while my paid posting has tapered off a bit. I was getting tired of typing :) and I figured you might be tiring as well. I have no idea as to the contextual ads until I add them up tomorrow. I haven't had anymore ad or link sales so that number has stayed steady. I will be doing, already have actually, a few paid posts this afternoon and this evening to do everything I can to hit my goal. I hope this quest has been as inspiring to you as it has been fun to me. You can make money blogging, and you can make money with FREE blogs. You can make money without being one of the "big boys." Quick Tip For Beginning Bloggers & Affiliate Marketers

Who are you? What kind of a person are you? What are you hobbies and interests? What are some things you are passionate about? The reason I am asking is that in my experience the people that do the best and actually stick with and put in the work and time necessary are the ones that blog from their personal experience. I might get in trouble saying this, but it isn't simply put up a site and make big bucks tomorrow. I know there are a lot of people out there selling and hyping some product or system that will make you a dot com blogging millionaire overnight. I'm not knocking them. I've even bought a few of them. Almost all have great ideas, strategies, techniques, and software that can help you in making money blogging and with affiliate marketing.

Bottom line though is that it takes time to write quality content. Just a quick tip, post as much original content as possible and very little pre-written articles. It takes time to build relationships with other bloggers. It takes time to build links both incoming and outgoing. It takes time to build a reputation.

There are soooo many that start this thing up and then quit a few months later. You can make good money online through blogging and affiliate marketing but you have to endure through the crappy times. Sounds very cliche I know but believe me there will be some times you don't feel like blogging in the slightest and want to quit because you aren't seeing a return. Those are the times when having something you love something you are passionate about, something that is more personal helps immensely.

I will need to average just a touch over $52 per day to reach my goal.

Bad Credit Isn't A Barrier To Making Money Online

A Valentine's Day Affiliate Marketing Bidz War

I just wanted to talk about the differences in campaigns for the same advertiser, and why you may or may not use each one or the other. I am going to examine 3 different types of campaigns. The advertiser I am going to use today is Bidz.com. I picked them because I have multiple partners that offer campaigns and we do have Valentine's Day on the way. If you haven't read my articles on the Benefits of Multiple Affiliate Campaign Partners you should take a minute to check it out and then read this article.

Bidz.com Short Form Conversion
Action: Converts on 1st Page info submit
Payout: $6.00 / lead

This campaign pays out without a purchase which can be a plus. The only thing required on this is for a person to sign up for a Bidz.com account. The payout though is only $6.00 per sign up. This wouldn't be bad for PPC campaign as in my experience you will get a much higher conversion on sign up than on actual sale. If you find you are getting a ton of clicks but no sales you would probably want to switch over to this campaign and probably see your commissions improve.

Payout: 16% Per Sale
Action Referral Period: 30 day(s)

This campaign pays a percentage, 16%, of each sale. Once an individual signs up and actually makes a purchase within 30 days of registration you get paid. The drawback on this is that honestly a 30 period isn't the greatest as many offer 45 and as high as 90. Another is that there actually has to be a sale. As I said you will get a higher conversion of sign ups than actual sales, and if the affiliate has a small to medium average sale the percentage may not be that much. My experience with Bidz.com is that between this and the first option you will almost always come out ahead with the fixed $6.00 per sign up. The average sales just aren't high enough to make up the difference in conversion between the sign ups and sales.

This campaign pays a fixed $30 per sale. Once an individual signs up and actually makes a purchase within 30 days of registration you get paid. The drawback on this is the same 30 period and of course the necessity of the sale. Again you will get a higher conversion of sign ups than actual sales. The advantage of this campaign over the previous two is the high payout. You would need 5 conversions on option 1 and a $187.50 sale on the 2nd campaign to equal the payout on this one. The average sale on Bidz.com isn't close to $187.50. This option for me and how I market the best option.

The reason I showed you all three is that payout terms can vary greatly amongst Affiliate Networks and you can once again see the Benefits Of Having Multiple Affiliate Networks. It does depend somewhat on your marketing strategy and style. If you do email, paid search, or organic search this will have an impact on conversion. It is all about having options and finding what works for what you do.

I think that having some kind of entertainment at the party, other than drunk footbal fans, would be pretty cool. I'm not suggesting a clown mind you but a DJ, or a cool cover band of some kind would be a nice addition to the party and could be for before, after, or even halftime of the game.
