Are U Still Making Money?

That is the big question isn't it? In this down economy are you still making money online? I know that my profits have dropped almost across the board. From blogging to affiliate marketing I have seen my profit margins squeezed as of late. I have been trying a few new things to try and add some more revenue streams to offset the drops, but only time will tell.

I am still doing well overall, but many that I have spoken with are not. How are you dealing with your drop in income? Have you even experienced a drop? If so how big, say on a percentage basis? I haven't ran all the numbers but I would say that my revenue is down somewhere in the neighborhood of %25. I was just curious how everyone else is doing out there?

Why Logos Are More Important than Ever Before

Historically, logos have been more a luxury than a necessity. Businesses attracted customers because they were the only game in town, so to speak. No longer. Today's highly competitive industries, global markets and visually oriented consumers have catapulted the logo to prominence. Now your logo is one of the most critical components of your brand. So how can something so little make such a big difference?

1. Your branding efforts not only start with your logo, they are dictated by it. Your logo appears on all of your sales tools, from your business cards to your website. As a result, your logo design influences the design of all your sales tools, for better or worse. A professional-looking logo can be leveraged to create professional-looking materials. A poorly designed logo cannot. In other words, you need a "brandable" logo one that you can make use of when designing other materials to brand your company.

   "Brandable" logos are scalable, memorable and meaningful. If people can't remember what your logo looks like, they won't remember your brand. Think of the logos of some popular brands today. Perhaps M-shaped arches, a shell, and a swoosh come to mind. All are simple concepts, effectively employed by McDonalds, Shell and Nike. If you can't look at a logo for less than 10 seconds and re-draw it with decent accuracy, it's probably too complex to be easily remembered. (Besides being difficult to remember, most complex logos cannot be effectively reduced in size or rendered in black and white, as required for materials like fax cover sheets and other business forms.)

2. Your logo is a quick visual cue that conveys the essence of your brand in an age when image is everything and time is short. Perhaps you've heard the writer's lament that "nobody reads anymore." In today's markets, not only do you face ever-increasing competition, you also face an audience accustomed to visually stimulating media, convenience and instant gratification. Sure, a few people may read all of your ad, more may read some of it but everyone will SEE it. The overwhelming amount of choices faced by time-crunched consumers forces them to identify shortcuts. Your logo is such a shortcut: it instantly conveys your brand message and emotional appeal.

3. Awareness and familiarity are keys to growing your business, and your logo is instrumental in both areas. Your logo is your brand's most basic graphic element. It ties together all of your sales materials - in fact, your logo may be the only visual element that your materials have in common. The right logo helps solidify customer loyalty while differentiating you from the competition.

4. Your logo may be the only thing by which a potential customer can judge your business. Think of small newspaper or Yellow Pages ads. Often all that fits is your contact information and logo. If your logo projects the right image, it may be the sole reason someone decides to try your company. Conversely, if it looks unprofessional or unclear, it alone may be the reason they choose your competition.

5. Finally, your logo affords a unique opportunity for you to look like a bigger (i.e., more established) business than you are. With the right logo, you can look like a large conglomerate even if you have only one employee. People will associate the positive attributes of big companies like security and financial stability with your company.

Building a solid brand identity is pivotal to success in business today. Lay the right foundation with a professional, brandable logo.

Make Money Promoting Texting Sweepstakes

We have all seen the ubiquitous ringtone commercials on TV. If you are like me you have always wondered who would actually pay the $9.99 or more per month for those services. Of course if you are like me you have probably made(ringtones aren't as lucrative as they used to be) a killing :) online through affiliate programs of services just like them. There is a new game in town that marries the ease of texting, the fun of sweepstakes, and the ability for you to make a ton of money.

The website is SMSnia dot com. The website allows users to enter sweepstakes using cell phone text messages. You send a text message to any sweepstake that you like. Now these are paid text messages that require a confirmation text after you send your initial entry, so you have to reply with a Y before you are charged. Each sweepstake is slightly different in that the winning interval is different. For example you know that every say 100th contestant wins and after you send a text message you will see you are say number 95. So you can then feel free to send again(with an additional cost of course), because your chances of winning are better.

The cool thing about the service is that us in the affiliate game can make some money! You make money by promoting the different sweepstakes. Just place a link or banner on your blog, and when someone clicks your link and enters the sweepstake you will make a 30% commission! Now they also have second level referral earnings as well so you can refer more affiliates and earn 2% commission for each SMS provided by your affiliates. Not a bad deal at all and considering the explosion of text messaging it could be a very lucrative program. I know for me it has been doing fairly well. Perfume In A Coffee Shop?

If they give u coffee in a perfume shop between perfumes to cut the smells? What do they give u in a coffee bean shop? Pefume?

I Was Robbed! - Literally :(

I had the wonderful experience of having my private residence violated and personal belongings stolen. I don't wish the experience on anyone. It is more than "stuff" being stolen. My things can be replaced, but the feelings of "being home" and the security and peacefulness that comes from your space and your belongings can't be. It is almost as if the memories associated with particular items, time periods and events, were removed as well. Yeah sure I can replace the items, but they will always point back, reminding me, of a time that was not nearly as sentimental. I have so many emotions and thoughts that are flying through my head that it honestly is making it hard to function. I am sorry I don't have more to say or write. Please keep me in your prayers and ask that a peacefulness and sense of security will rest on me, my family, and my home. Thank you all so much for your support.

I get questions all the time from people wondering can you really make money from those get-paid-to type sites? Well my answer is yes. I receive a check every month from at least on get-paid-to site. I use the extra money to by advertising for other online businesses. I put it in Christmas club accounts so that I can save for the holidays. Yes you can make money with get-paid-to. They key really is that you NEED REFERRALS! Yeah you can earn enough to get a check by just reading emails, completing offers, etc... yourself, but you aren't going to make decent recurring income that way. I earn much more from my referrals each month that I do personally by reading emails and such.

Now understand that you aren't going to get rich doing this. I do most of this in my spare time while I am say watching TV. I can pull up some paid emails an knock out about 30 or so in an hour while I am watching TV. Doesn't sound like a lot, but I'm not really doing anything anyway. Well except watching TV of course. See many people just don't see why they should waste their time. Like I said, I work programs like this during time when I wouldn't be doing anything other than sitting on my butt. Not only that I earn in the neighborhood of $100 a month from my two biggest get-paid-to programs. That over a years time is decent chunk of change and when you put it to work for you and figure in compound earnings you can see the potential.

What Kind Of File Is That?

What kind of file is that? Have you ever asked that question? Have you ever received a file, found a file on your computer, or just in general seen a file with a weird extension you don't recognize? Don't know what file extension rar is? How about file extension daa? No? Well there is a website for that. It is File-Extension-Library dot com. They have a pretty decent list of file extensions and you can just find the one in question, click the link and voila you have tons of information on that extension. The list is sorted in alphabetical order so it is pretty easy to find what you are looking for. The information provided is nice, but the website is selling their scan service a bit too much. If you don't mind that and are just looking for information check them out the next time you want file extension information.
